The information must stay on the Consumer Beware List for at least 21 months but not more than 27 months. Information relating to a charge will be removed if the business is found not guilty. They will, I emphasize, will SAY anything to convince you to let them in and once they check your appliances, will have a minimum of one faulty/negative comment to state. Keep changing their name to run away from the negative reviews. They prey on the old and ignorant, selling them products they don't need at hyper-inflated prices. Don't walk, RUN AWAY if they knock on your door.

Two people I know from this company also have not been paid so far. You will then be going around in circles for ages and when you ask to speak with the guy who pays people he won't be available to speak to you and you will constantly get frustrated. What the BBB has done to consumers for over 100 years is one of the many reasons why Ripoff Report was created.
Ontario Consumers Home Services vs Water Heaters Rental
We did not cancel because our bill came after 10 days passed. My dad signed a contract for water heater at the door in January 8th 2018 and today I got a bill for tankless water heater. The saleperson said the amount for monthly payment will be covered by a credit which is not true. He claimed the water heater is old and if anything happened to the reliance old water heater they will not able to fix it.

In the proposed class action settlement, Ontario Energy Group and Home Trust Company have also agreed to clarify the termination terms of their contract and improve their lien and security registration practices. They won't pay you for 3 weeks and you will only be paid for your first week on the first paycheck so in the end they always have about 2 weeks pay that they withhold from you. Once you leave the company there will be no pay for you and they will tell you that they withhold pay for 90 days because of some company policy. This is something they just make up not to pay you because there was no mention of something like that in the contract you sign with them. Ontario Consumers Home Services is a 100% Canadian owned and operated company.
Positive experience
On top of everything, the guy that convinced us to install AC, told us that we will get $400 rebate from Ontarion Gov., because OCHS is collecting it anyway but sends the cheque only to those who ask for it. Thanks to dzhoujzhang I feel relieved for kicking the rep from "Ontario Consumers Home Services" out of my house. I followed him downstairs to the furnace room where he asked me questions about water pressure, chlorine smell/taste in water, any spikes in water temps, etc. He then "noticed" I never had a "carbon filter" attached to my water heater and acted all surprised. Apparently it was supposed to be installed when they changed my water heater .
Have you heard the name of Ontario Consumers Home Services? This was the second time I called Ontario Consumers Home Services for their services. Two years ago, they replaced my furnace, air filter and air-conditioning unit and it was professionally done. Last weekend my water heater tank leaked and stop working. We met Gus and he told us to call their consultant Steve.
These contracts are very profitable for the rental companies and abad deal for the majority of their customers. Purchasing your own unit can result in substantial savings over time, according to the Competition Bureau. Appliance rental is not common practice in Canada outside of Ontario. Once you have a written copy of the contract, you still have a 10-day cooling-off period to cancel a contract, for the restricted products or services, for any reason. Businesses will be able to enter into a contract at your home if you contacted them ahead of time and invited them to your home for the purpose of buying or leasing one of the restricted products and services.
He want to find a reason to sign an expensive long term contract. The old water heater was working fine and we are only paying 20 dollars a month. Door to door sales are illegal since March 1st. I believe some companies are not abiding by door to door sales ban and forging signatures. We were pressured into renting furnace and tankless hot water heater from Simple Green Hvac company. It was door to door sale in 2014 and the contract was signed for 15 years.
Your poster and message gave me remarkable confidence to deal with them and I just want to let other victims knowing that don't be scared, protect your own right. Despite signing a contract, I believe there may be a leeway if you could prove that you were given false information prior to signing by OCHS. In other words, you were not under a reasonable state to sign such contract, which is would be very easy to prove.
